Article Processing Charges (APC)
To cover the costs associated with various stages of publication, including peer review management, copy-editing, and hosting the final article on dedicated servers, authors are required to pay an article processing charge (APC) for open access publication under a Creative Commons license.

APC Waivers
The International Journal of Cardiometabolic Research provides APC waivers and discounts for corresponding authors based in low-income regions, as defined by the World Bank.
Low-income countries: Full APC waiver
Lower-middle-income countries: 50% APC discount
Requests from upper-middle and high-income countries will be evaluated individually, and waivers or discounts may be granted in cases of financial need. Applications for APC waivers or discounts should be made during manuscript submission; requests during the review process or post-acceptance cannot be accommodated.

Waivers will not be granted for research that is funded unless there is evidence of financial need. However, if financial constraints prevent you from covering the APC, we are happy to review your eligibility for a waiver or discount.
For manuscripts that offer a substantial critique of an article previously published in the journal, authors may request a full APC waiver.
To apply for an APC waiver based on these grounds, please contact the journal’s editorial team when submitting your manuscript. Requests will only be considered after submission and are granted at the editor’s discretion.
APC Refund
The International Journal of Cardiometabolic Research will refund APCs if an error on our part prevents the publication of an article, such as failing to make it openly available on the journal platform. Refunds will be issued if the error is not corrected within 30 days of receiving the corresponding author’s request.

APCs will not be refunded for article retractions due to author errors or misconduct.
